I am a Licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer, and Cremation Specialist with over 39 years of experience in the funeral industry. Graduate from the New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences, Boston, MA.
I am passionate about providing the highest quality of care and service compassionately, and I am committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in the profession. My goal is to make the funeral planning process as smooth and stress-free as possible for you. I understand the emotional difficulties that come with loss, and I am confident that I can provide the meaningful services you need to honor and celebrate the life of your loved one.

Joseph Giordano is a dedicated Funeral Director Apprentice #4479, with a strong foundation and extensive experience in both the funeral and cemetery operations. As a graduate of the State University of New York at Farmingdale for Mortuary Science, Joseph brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. His commitment to providing compassionate and professional care to families in need, combined with his proven management skills, makes him a valuable asset to the funeral home. Joseph's journey into the funeral business began immediately after high school, where he quickly discovered his passion for helping others during difficult times.
Shelby Thompson serves as our Manager of Administration with a deep commitment to serving families with compassion, integrity, and the highest standards of care. She considers it an honor to support families during some of life’s most difficult moments and strives to ensure every family feels respected, supported, and genuinely cared for throughout the arrangement process.
Outside of work, Shelby enjoys reading, spending time in the sunshine, crafting, and making cherished memories with her husband.





Cat Thurston serves as Lead Receptionist and a valued member of the Administrative Team at Cremation Society of SC–Westville Funerals. As one of the first voices and faces families encounter, Cat is known for her warmth, professionalism, and compassionate approach during difficult moments. Being bilingual, she is proud to assist and communicate with families from diverse backgrounds throughout the Upstate community.
Working in funeral service has given Cat a deep appreciation for the value of life, family, and meaningful connection. She is dedicated to helping families feel welcomed, supported, and cared for throughout the funeral process.
Outside of the funeral home, Cat enjoys spending time with her husband and children. Whether cheering on her oldest at the soccer field, keeping up with her youngest’s adventurous spirit, or attending church on Sundays, family remains at the center of her life and values.


Bella LaBauve serves as part of our Receptionist and Family Greeter Team, where she is dedicated to welcoming every family with compassion, professionalism, and genuine care. She understands the importance of creating a comforting and reassuring environment for those navigating life’s most difficult transitions, ensuring each family feels respected, supported, and at ease from the moment they arrive.
Outside of work, Bella enjoys reading and writing, spending time with family and friends, and making lasting memories through new adventures and experiences.
