Wilmer Raymond Ammons

May 6, 1948 — January 19, 2023

We pay tribute to the life of Raymond "Ray" Ammons, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Ray was a dedicated veteran who served his country with pride in both the army and navy reserves. He was a devoted member of the Berea First Baptist Church and will always be remembered for his unwavering faith, service and a beautiful tenor voice lifted to the Lord. Music was always a big part of his life and he passed that on to his daughters. Ray was the son of Wilma D. (Mayfield) Ammons and Willie Ray Ammons. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean (Suttles) Ammons. Ray is survived by his children Angela (Stephen) Coudrain of Covingon, LA, and Michelle (Kevin) Smith of Woodruff, SC, six adoring grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one brother John (Cindy) Ammons of Florence, MS, and one sister Elaine (Ed) Camarda. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on through his family and friends.
