Willie "Bill" Holmes

Willie “Bill” Holmes passed away in Spartanburg, SC in the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 9, 2022. He is survived by his daughter Rebecca Sumner; his son Wayne Holmes; a handful of grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many friends.
Willie was a character – a true larger than life personality. He was as kind-hearted as a man could be. He never met a stranger, and would truly do anything for his family and friends.
Willie loved nature, and was thrilled to work at his local golf course where he could drive around on his golf cart, watch birds, feed the ducks, and make sure that the course had the most perfect greens. When Willie wasn’t on the golf course, he enjoyed travel and finding adventure wherever he could. He recently even took up zip-lining!
He loved his family deeply, and took great pride in being a grandparent and great-grandparent. Willie was also a lover of animals, particularly his cats and his rabbits.
