William Eddie Whiten, Sr.

January 25, 1943 — January 15, 2018

William Eddie Whiten, Sr., 74, of Townville, SC, went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2018 and joined his loving wife of 57 years, Kathryn, who passed away November 2, 2017.

Eddie was a caring man with a big heart. His family changed his life in many ways, allowing him to live a profound life full of love for his family and devotion to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was wholly devoted to his true love, Kathryn, whom he lived for every day.

Born in Greenville, SC, Eddie was the son of the late Sam and Joan Whiten of Greenville. He retired from Southeastern Freight Lines after more than 25 years of service as a diesel mechanic. He also served proudly in the United States Army, and loved his country. He especially loved sharing his love of camping, hunting and fishing with his children, grandchildren and friends.

He is survived by his children, Denise Whiten Gibbs (Joe) of Burnsville, NC, Penny Whiten Evitt (Glenn) of Easley, SC, Eddie Whiten, Jr. of Anderson , SC and Robin Whiten Holliday (Chuck) of Easley, SC; his grandchildren, Symatha Gibbs Hughes (Tyler), Leigh Gibbs Suico (Gerard), Hunter Spear Holliday, Jacob Robert Whiten (Ashley), Ryker Forrest Holliday, Jarrad Amon Whiten, Chloe Isabella Holliday and Leanna and Remington Bearden; his great grandchildren, Piper Leigh Hughes,
Lucas Kade Whiten and Amelia Grace Hughes.

Family and friends are welcome to gather in a celebration of his life at the lake house in Townville. We will fellowship on Thursday, January 18th beginning at 3:00PM.
