William Pressley "Bill" Thompson

William Pressley "Bill" Thompson, 72, took his journey to his eternal home on January 4, 2021, following an illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Ruby Thompson, a sister Brenda T. Brown, two brothers: Bobby Thompson Sr., and Joe Thompson. Bill is survived by four children Lisa Meredith (Frederick), Tammy Thompson, Billie Jo "B.J." (Andy-deceased), William "Buddy" Thompson Jr (Sonya); fifteen grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a nephew Bobby Thompson Jr (Heather). He also leaves behind his faithful best friend and companion of 20 plus years "Bubba", his Shih Tzu who loved him greatly and he loved in return. He retired from Hediger Enterprise Inc. as a maintenance supervisor. Mr. Thompson always had a love of sports. As a teen, he played numerous sports, and in his older years on several occasions coached a youth league football and was an avid golfer. Recently he was honored by Travelers Rest High School Alumni and his team presented with championship rings in recognition of State Champions Class of 1963 TRHS Basketball team. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021, at 5:00 PM at New Life Baptist Church, 2690 W. Blue Ridge Dr, Greenville, SC.
