William Julius Sherouse

July 2, 1967 — September 2, 2024

Anderson, SC

William Julius Sherouse, known affectionately as Bill to his friends and family, passed away at his home in Anderson, SC, on September 2, 2024. Born on July 2, 1967, in Orlando, FL, Bill's zest for life and infectious humor touched all who knew him.

Bill was a man of many talents and interests. After graduating from high school, he honed his skills at welding school, which led to a successful career as a welder. His dedication to craftsmanship was only matched by his commitment to his country, having served with distinction in the Army's 101st Airborne Division.

Beyond his professional life, Bill was a man who loved the outdoors. Whether he was perfecting his swing on the golf course, walking his faithful dog Scrappy, casting a line into a serene lake, or spending a day at the gun range, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm. Bill's love for these activities was only surpassed by the joy he found in the company of his friends and family.

Bill's sense of humor was legendary, and his ability to tell a story or crack a joke made every gathering memorable. He was the life of the party, and his laughter was a gift that he shared generously. Those who knew Bill would describe him as not just funny, but also loving and interesting—a man who could captivate an audience and make everyone feel at home.

He leaves behind a loving family: his sister, Teresa Smith Parker; his son, Austen Jacob Sherouse, and Austen's girlfriend, Alexia Peters; his son, William J. Sherouse; his grandson, Skyler Peters; his granddaughter, Faithlynn Sherouse; his mother, Beth Sherouse; and his uncles, Julius Sigler and Tommy Sigler. Bill was predeceased by his father, William Homer Sherouse, and his aunts and uncle, Linda Sigler, Peggy Sigler, Vicky Sigler, and George Sigler. His legacy will also live on through his several nieces and nephews, who will miss his larger-than-life presence.

As we bid farewell to Bill, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of moments that will be cherished forever. He was a beacon of light in the lives of many, and his memory will be held in the hearts of those who loved him.
