William Stanford Patterson, 60, passed away on Monday April 6, 2015. Born June 10, 1954 in Seneca, SC he was the son of the late Herman “Pat” Patterson and Elizabeth “Betty” Patterson.



He attended Greer High for a period before deciding to enlist in the U.S. Navy. Upon returning to the states he finished High school in Florence, SC and continued on to Greenville Technical College where he majored in Carpentry. Stan was employed as a Lead Carpenter for many years and was proud of his work. In 1989 Stan joined Bausch and Lomb in Greenville, SC. He truly valued his experience and friendships there.



Stan was an avid angler who enjoyed the Tyger River and it’s bream. He also loved watching the Atlanta Braves and sharing a good laugh. He was a devoted son and father.



He is survived by his mother Elizabeth “Betty” Patterson; sisters: Janice (Patterson) Clarke and husband Colin of Mount Pleasant, SC, Judy (Patterson) Cox and husband Tommy of Travelers Rest, SC; brothers: Gerald Patterson and wife Cathy of Greer, SC, Tommy Patterson and wife Mary of Inman, SC and John Patterson of Greer, SC. He is also survived by his loving daughter, Jessica Patterson of Tryon, NC; his wife, Judy (Kemmerlin) Patterson of Landrum, SC and nephews: Thomas “T.J.” Patterson, Harrison Cox, Joshua Patterson; nieces: Jennifer (Patterson) Arnold, Katie Cox, Caitlyn Anderson, and great nephew Thomas Patterson.



A picnic will be held in his honor at Lake Robinson, located on 2544 Mays Bridge Rd. Greer, SC on Sunday April 26 at 1:00 pm. Donations may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina.
