William “Bill” Morin Jr. (79, Simpsonville SC) was called to the starting tee on February 19, 2023 to play in a foursome with Payne Stewart, Arnie Palmer and his dad, Wm. Clarke Morin Sr following a battle with brain cancer.
Originally from Rochester, NY, born July 24, 1943, Bill was an Eagle Scout, a graduate of The Harley School (1961) & Alfred University (1966); Captain in the US Air Force serving at Shaw AFB 1966-69. He earned his MBA from Boston College and joined his father at Eastman Kodak Company, retiring after 29 years to Greenville SC. Golf was his passion and could be found at the course any day that ended in a -y (much to the chagrin of his honey-do list at home). While golfing, he drained (5) holes-in-one, shot his age several times, lowered his handicap to (6) and believed golf revealed a person’s true character. His gift to the world was his ability to see people for who they were and like his father, offer unconditional support to them in their time of need.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Tonya (Osborne) Morin; his son William Clarke Morin III; son Tony (Stacy) Masi of Statesville, NC; daughter Martina (David) Burak of Hilton Head, SC; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; & his four-legged kids Murphy, Kirby and Max,
He is predeceased by his infant daughter Megan, parents William Clarke Morin, Sr & Russelene (Franks) Morin, sister Millicent Fletcher, & his dogs Tiger, Hassett the Bassett and Barney Bassett. (+ several sets of tires on his mom’s Pontiac.)
In lieu of cards or flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Cancer Society of Greenville or the Greenville Woodworkers Guild.
Memorial service will be held March 24, 2023 at Fox Run Country Club.
