William Eddie Martin

William E. Martin "Eddie", 73, of Gray Court passed away on January 8, 2021. He is survived by his wife of fifty six years of the home, Gail S. Martin.
Survivors include his three sons; William E. Martin, JR. (Will), Richard Lee Martin, and Bruce Martin, four grandchildren; Aaron Martin, Matthew Martin, Noah Martin, and Anna Martin, two great-grandchildren, Scarlett Martin and Isacc Martin.
He was a native of Pickens County and attended both Welcome Elementary and Carolina High School. He was a professional Truck Driver and drove for nearly fifty years. He started his driving career as a school bus driver for Carolina High School at the age of 16.
At one time the mortuary was a school and at the corner of this building is where Eddie and Gail first laid eyes upon each other. This school was where he picked Gail up to ride his bus. So this is where Gail wanted their last time of seeing each other to be.
Due to COVID, there will be no funeral services the cremains will be taken back to Texas with Gail to be laid to rest with Gail upon her death. This obituary cannot do justice to this kind man who wore a smile on his face.
My heart is broken. For my love in the physical world is gone. Eddie had alzheimers-dementia that stole his life. He was saved and washed in the the blood of Jesus Christ as a young man. I rest in the assurance I will see him in Heaven. For the first time in four years I know where he is.
