William F. Manwaring II

With peace and joy, we celebrate the homegoing of William Frederick Manwaring II, 65, Taylors, SC, on July 4, 2022. The desire of his heart was to follow the commandments in Matthew 22:37-40, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind... and love your neighbor as yourself.” This is how he lived each day, loving broken people and sharing the Lord’s love and the Gospel message of Christ’s death on the cross, resurrection, and the hope of heaven.

Bill's high school sweetheart and wife of 46 years, Susan Manwaring; two daughters, Sherri Roddick (Andy), Nashville, TN, and Melissa Sue Linebaugh, Greer, SC; five grandchildren, Mimi Roddick, Joshua Linebaugh, David Linebaugh, Luke Linebaugh, Asher Roddick; and his late father’s wife Aldean Crain Manwaring, Landrum, SC, continue to live out his legacy by loving God and loving others. While his immediate family was small, the ever-growing community he considered family will forever remember his love and gift of encouragement.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at his home church, Covenant United Methodist Church, 1310 Old Spartanburg Road, Greer, SC, Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 2:00 pm with Bill’s Beach Blast reception immediately following in the Welcome Center. Rejoice with us in casual and colorful attire!
