William Keith Kerns, 63, of Dacusville, South Carolina, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in Anderson, South Carolina following an illness. Born on April 27, 1955 in Greenville, South Carolina to his parents, William Alfred Kerns and Margaret Helen (Bowen) Kerns. A life long resident of the upstate, he worked as a truck driver in the trucking industry and he was a member of Life Church in Dacusville. He will be remembered by his family for his strong work ethic as an owner-operator and driving over the road for 43 years and his wit and his sense of humor. During his life, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and trail riding. He gave special and individual nick names to his grandchildren and throughout his trials in life and his illness he never complained. Keith is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Cleveland Alfred Kerns. Those who will most cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Lue Kerns of Dacusville; his daughters, Kellie Kerns Redding and husband, Scott of Dacusville, Candy Carter of Mauldin and Tammy White of Dacusville; his son, Roy White of Greenville; his sisters, Margaret Martin and her husband, Allen of Greenville and Lallie of Santa Ana, California; his grandchildren, Emilie Owens, Ethan Owens, Tristan Redding, Courtney Carter, Matthew Carter, Jonathan Ledbetter, Chris Williams, Bradley Williams, Logan White, Jordan White, Kylee Laws and his grandson on the way, Easton Jackson Redding; his great grandchildren, Tyler Keith Ledbetter, Connor Williams, Audrey Williams, Sofia Carter and Genesis Benton. His K-9 companions, Bella and Abbie.
A gathering of Keith’s family and friends for a time of reflection will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, December 14, 2018 in the Chapel of Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Road in Greenville. Funeral services to remember and honor his life will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 14, 2018 at the Life Church, 199 Thomas Mill Road, Easley, South Carolina 29640. Pastor Chad Albertson will officiate the services. The family will be at the home of his daughter, Kellie.
