William Phillip (Phil) Hunt, 62, went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, September 19th surrounded by his family. He was born in Simpsonville, SC on June 3rd, 1958. He is survived by his two daughters Charlotte and Kullie Hunt, his brother Edward Hunt (Mary), nephews Willie and John Hunt, as well as Freida Luthi. He is predeceased by his mother, Maggie Louise Cannady and his father, William (Willie) Edward Hunt.
Phil was a true craftsman of his trade who was always honest in his dealings with others. He was a devoted father and loved preparing Sunday dinners for his family. He wasn’t much for doing the dishes, but his girls didn’t mind cleaning because the food was worth the mess.
He enjoyed fishing growing up, which he continued with his brother later in life. He achieved black belt status in Karate at a very young age and competed in a national event at Madison Square Garden. Phil was the life and laugh of the party and lived his life to the fullest.
Family and friends whose lives were touched by Phil are invited to a small gathering at the DeSantis Pavilion, which is part of the Younts Conference Center on the Furman University campus Thursday, September 24th at 12pm. Due to current restrictions, a limited capacity of 50 people will be allowed. The family will be at the home of Kullie Hunt (500 Trinity Way Greenville, SC 29617) for friends and family to drop by beginning at 5pm.
