William Boyce Duffie, known affectionately as Boyce to his friends and family, passed away on July 6, 2024, in Greer, SC. Born on January 11, 1952, in Greenville, SC, Boyce was an intelligent, courageous, and strong-willed man, whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.
Boyce was raised by his late parents, Mary Frances Duffie and Cecil Lankford Duffie. He is survived by his brother to Robert Duffie (Pam) and preceded in death by his brother Cecil Lankford Duffie, Jr. His life was a testament to the values of family, hard work, and community, which he upheld with unwavering dedication.
Boyce was a respected business owner and realtor. His professional life was marked by the same integrity and commitment that he brought to every aspect of his existence.
Boyce's passions were as diverse as they were engaging. He was an avid golfer, finding joy and relaxation on the greens. His love for music was evident in the way he would listen, a hobby that provided him with both solace and inspiration. A man with a green thumb, Boyce took pleasure in gardening, nurturing plants with the same care he showed to those he loved. His interest in national and world affairs kept him informed and engaged, while his enjoyment of television offered him moments of entertainment and reflection.
Above all, Boyce was a family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Burnett Duffie, with whom he shared a life full of love and mutual respect. He was a proud father to his sons, Aaron and Alex Duffie, and a doting grandfather to Connor, Zane, Ember, and Elijah.
Boyce's life was also brightened by the companionship of his dogs, Willow and Sophie, who were a source of unconditional love and joy throughout his days.
The legacy Boyce leaves behind is one of kindness, strength, and an unwavering zest for life. His memory will be carried forward in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Boyce's life was a journey of purpose and passion, and though he will be missed, the impact of his time on this earth will continue to resonate for generations to come.
