William Alexander " Alex " Barksdale, 18 passed away June 5th 2016. Alex was born August 22, 1997 in Greenville, SC. Alex was named after his father and Alexander the Great.
Alex our beloved, sweet, precious, beautiful son, loving brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. Giver of light in this dark world will be FOREVER missed by ALL who encountered him.
Alex was preceded in death by his Uncle Denis Barksdale, Cousin Travis Barnard, Friend Valentina Rojas, teacher and family friend Ray Anderson. Lance and Kim Barksdale Mortenson of Salt Lake City, UT. Brantley and Natalie Barksdale of Greer, SC. Carter and Amber Barksdale of Taylors, SC. Cinthya Barksdale of Greenville, SC. Cousins Shelby Woods, Rhett Woods, Maddie Barksdale, Briley Barksdale, Xan Barksdale, Jade Barksdale, Quetzally Barksdale, Issac Barksdale, Ethan Barksdale. Oli Dog and Carl the Cat. Alex previously attended WHHS and studied automotive technologies at Enoree Career Center. He was working on obtaining his GED. A special thank you to the Pebble Creek Grill (Alex’s most recent employer). Gary and Marty thought the world of Alex and treated him as their own.
Alex was accomplished at many things. He enjoyed fishing, camping, Frisbee golf, shooting guns, skateboarding, and ATVs to name a few. Or just to chill. Alex LOVED dogs.
Alex was the hardest of workers. He never backed down from a challenge and was able to accomplish whatever he set his mind to. A jack of all trades.Alex never hesitated when it came to helping others. His energy so strong his smile could brighten anyone’s day. He was friendly, smart, tough, sweet, kind, giving. He was a friend to EVERYONE. Alex NEVER met a Stranger…..
A celebration of Alex's life will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 12, 2016 in the Chapel of Westville Funeral Home, 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville, SC 29611.
