Walter Lee Heard

Walter Lee Heard, known affectionately as Walt to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at his home on November 26, 2023, at the age of 83. Born on May 21, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan, Walt was a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew him.

Walt's early life in Detroit laid a strong foundation for his unwavering work ethic. After graduating from high school, he dedicated many years of service to Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), where he was not only respected for his professionalism but also cherished for his generosity and camaraderie. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his devotion to his faith as a proud member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, where he found great solace and community.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Walt will remember him as the epitome of loving, kind, and generous. Walt's legacy is carried on by his beloved family, including his brother Anthony Heard and his siblings, Frederick and Linda Nelson, who will continue to honor his memory by living out the values he embodied throughout his life.
