Walter Gyr

Walter Gyr of Greenville, SC passed away on June 10, 2021. Born in Switzerland in 1928, Walter spent most of his life living in New York though he also resided in Virginia and Florida before moving to Greenville in 2013. He was a graduate of Westminster College in Pennsylvania. He was a proud Navy veteran who loved to laugh, study the Bible, spend time with his family, and had an endlessly curious mind.

Walter was the son of Emil and Olga Gyr. In addition to his parents, Walter was predeceased by his wife Mary Gyr and brother Rudolf Gyr (Lois). He is survived by daughter Michele Guilfoos (Martin) and son Donald Gyr (Lesley) as well as 3 granddaughters and 1 great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will take place at a later date in New York.
