Simpsonville - With great sadness the family of Walter Gaither Jr. (age 69) announces his peaceful passing on Sunday November 26, 2017.
Walter was born to the union of the late Mary Emma Myers and Walter Gaither Sr. He is sur-vived by 3 children: Corey B. Gaither(Odessa Brooks), Keith A. Gaither (Ruth), C. Sasty Simmons (Anthony); and siblings: Willie "Bo" Gaither, Daisy Smith (Bobby), Margaret Rolle (Howard) and Neptune Gaither (Francine); his grand-children Myana S. Miller, Alice “Faith” Simmons, Step Grands Antania and Anthony Simmons. He was predeceased by his daughter Shediah N. Gaither and brothers: Eugene "Quay" Grant, James Gaither, Charles Gaither, and Dr.Thomas Gaither.
Walter was born on April 13, 1948 and raised in Pawleys Island. He made his dedication to Jehovah on September 3,1963. As a father and friend, he was known for his generosity, and infectious laugh.
He knew no stranger. And while moving to Greenville, and traveling the length of the con-tinental US, he found no enemy. He embodied his 80’s moniker “Peaceable Man”.
