Walter Ruppie Case, known affectionately as "Rup" to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at home on November 28, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on February 9, 1949, Rup was a man whose life was defined by his loving nature, thoughtful demeanor, and passionate spirit.
Rup proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran, a period of his life that shaped much of his character and values. After his service, he embarked on a fulfilling career and retired from Hertz Celanese, where he was well-respected by his colleagues and peers. His work ethic and dedication to his job were evident to all who knew him.
Outside of his professional life, Rup was an avid pool player and fisherman. His love for these hobbies was more than just pastime activities; they were extensions of his personality—strategic, patient, and always with a touch of fun. Rup's passion for life was infectious, and he had a unique ability to make every moment count, whether he was angling for the catch of the day or lining up the perfect shot on the pool table.
Rup's legacy is carried on by his loving family. He was a devoted father to his son, Anthony Case, and daughters, Samantha Case and Erika Case.His stepchildren Jorja Dotson Jinna and William (Peanut) Dotson His sister, Barbra Ann Howard, will remember him for the bond they shared and the memories they created together. Rup was also a cherished uncle to his niece, Crista Androde, and his nephews, Kevin and Johnathan Cooper. His grandchildren, Leslie Goodwin, Elaine Hamelson, and Zane Harrelson, will miss their grandfather's warmth and guidance.
Rup was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Sunie Case, his daughter, Vanessa Ann Case, and his brother, Ricky Case. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and their memories were treasured until his final days.
Rup's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, yet they find comfort in the wealth of beautiful memories he has left behind. His life was well-lived, full of love and kindness, and his spirit will continue to inspire his family and friends.
