Virgil Donald “Don” Christie

Don Christie, 78, husband of Cynthia Robertson, passed from this life Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital Downtown.
Born in Evansville, Indiana, he is a son of the late Marvin Christie and the late Mary Brook Christie. Don worked until the week prior to his death. He was born into the Methodist faith and a true believer in Christ. Don enjoyed stockcar racing and raced for many years in Florida at Hialeah Speedway and West Palm Beach Speedway, locally at Greenville-Pickens and Anderson Speedways. He was a veteran of the armed Forces from 1961-1965 and stationed in Germany. There will be an emptiness in the lives that Don touched, however, based on his profession of faith in Jesus, we know that he is at peace and we can take comfort in knowing that we will see him again.
Survivors include his wife Cynthia of the home, a son; Richard Braswell of Miami, Florida, a daughter; Donna Rae Christie of Greenville, and a grandson Dylan Braswell of Miami, Florida.
A celebration of Don’s life will be arranged at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
