Virgie Louise Trotter Nelson

Virgie Louise Trotter Nelson, 74, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at her daughter’s home. Born on June 26, 1944 in Pelzer, South Carolina to her parents, Thomas Arthur Trotter and Rachel Newport (Hudson) Trotter, she was a lifelong resident of the upstate, she is and has always been the Heart of her family. She will be remembered for her closeness and dedication to the care of her son, Dale. She saw the best in everyone and took them as they were. She enjoyed working with Crossword Puzzles and cooking in her home.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Matthew Nelson; her sons, David Nelson and James Nelson; her sisters, Linda Garrison, Ann Spearman, Mary Nelson and Wanda Brown. Those who will most cherish her memory are her daughters, Linda G. Scott and husband, Todd of Greenville, SC, Tammy McDonald of Cross Hill, SC; her son, Roger Dale Nelson of Greenville; her sisters, Dot Roberts and her husband, Franklin of Pelzer, SC and Betty Street and her husband, Martin of Pelzer, SC; her brother, Clyde Trotter and his wife, Sharon of Pelzer, SC; her grandchildren, Matthew Scott and his wife, Angel of Piedmont, SC, Christopher McDonald of River Falls, SC, Missy Scott of Greenville, SC, Marie Henson of Dacusville, SC and Amber Scott and her husband, Chris “ Pee Wee “ Westbrooks of Dacusville, SC; her eleven great grandchildren and numerous members of her extended family.

Funeral services to remember and honor her life will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 29, 2018 in the Chapel of Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29611. A gathering of the family and friends of Louise will be from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Saturday at the Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Linda Scott, 120 Cherrylane Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29617.
