Vince was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to parents, Irene Monaco Rubino and Vincent “Jimmy” Rubino. He earned his undergraduate and MBA from St. Peters College in Jersey City, New Jersey and a second master’s degree from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Before retiring in 2014 he was a professor at City College Miami and an adjunct instructor at Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was passionate about cooking especially his mother’s Italian recipes. He was famous for his meatballs and “gravy” and Italian cheesecake. Some of his happiest memories were having friends and family gathered around the table for a meal. He was a gifted artist who began sketching as a young boy and then learned to oil paint a passion he continued throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing and spent many happy hours fishing on the Dania Beach pier while living in Florida. A lifelong and devout Catholic he attended Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pickens, South Carolina and remained a parishioner of St. Maurice Catholic Church in Dania Beach, Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela; his three children, Robyn Edwards, Kimberly Rubino and Vincent Rubino; his two grandsons, Jack and Connor Edwards; his brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Jeanette Rubino; his in-laws Martha and Mike Burgess, sister-in-law Tanya Carter, nephew Thomas Carter.
