Vanessa Jamila Cox-Gatewood was born on April 27, 1988, in Greenville, South Carolina to Cleveland "CR" Vernon and Joy Rene Cox. On the early morning of November 26, 2023, she transitioned into eternal rest in the comfort of her home. She was 35 years old.
She is survived by her husband, Jerard Dantez Gatewood; two children Dakius M. Ballenger and Aaliyah B. Ballenger both of Greenville; two sisters Mia Cox and Anna Cox; 4 brothers Edward Cox, Ricky Williams, Rufus (Lexus) Farley III & Aaron Farley all of Greenville, SC; an Aunt Rolanda Cox of Greenville, SC; A host of other relatives and friends.
