Valerie Joy Harmon was born in Salem, Virginia on December 31, 1981 and was the daughter of Sarajean Sampson Harmon and Gene Allen Harmon. She died August 24, 2016 in Fairfield, Maine. Valerie grew up in Greenville, South Carolina and graduated from Hampton Park Christian School in 2000. She completed her Cosmetology Degree at Bob Jones University.
Valerie attended Faith Evangelical Free Church in Waterville, Maine. She was known for her warm friendly smile and outgoing personality. She lived a passionate and compassionate life. She made friends quickly. One of her pleasures, after getting to know someone was to share her love of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed teaching children and ladies in church settings.
Valerie was known for her love of drama and speech. She enjoyed music and played the piano and flute. She used cosmetology skills in salons, spas, and pageants. She supported others by helping them do and look their best.
Valerie is survived by her parents, her older brother, Darrel Harmon, his wife, Libby, of Greenville, South Carolina and their children; Sasha (10), Drake (8), Finn (3), and Jack (1), her younger brother, Greg Harmon, his wife, Riva, and their daughter, Rose (2).
The family will receive friends at Faith Baptist Church of Taylors, South Carolina, Saturday, October 1, from 10:00 am -12:00 pm followed by the Memorial Service at 12:00 pm.
Interment will be private at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
