Valdean Hedden, 55, went to Heaven early on Sunday morning, October 30, 2016. For family and friends, this loss was very sudden and unexpected, but to his Heavenly Father, his arrival on those golden streets was perfectly on time, and surely he was greeted by a host of angels, as well as with the joyous celebration of friends and loved ones who had gone on before him.
Born on October 7, 1961, in Pickens County, Valdean was the third of six children of Gene and Peggy Hedden. He is survived by his Mother, Peggy Grey Hedden, of Seneca Health Center, as well as a son, Ezra Hedden (Rian) of Liberty, and daughter Emily Faith Hedden of Liberty, two grandchildren, Aiden and Rilee Hedden, upon whom Valdean doted, as well as five siblings, Clyde Hedden (Leigh) of Central, Sybil Capps (Coles) of Fair Play, Jeff Hedden (Pam) of Central, Marcus Hedden (Lisa) of Salem, and Opal Crocker (Mark) of West Union, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Gene Hedden.
Before becoming disabled, he made his profession as a truck driver. He loved to fish and hunt, and was a wonderful gardener and talented artist. He had an enormously generous heart and was loved by many.
During his last months, Valdean came to a good place in his life, and was surely ready to meet Jesus. He had attended Cateechee Church of God for several months. He was a blessing to others.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Cateechee Church of God, 914 Norris Highway, Central, SC. The family will be in their respective homes.
