Trenholm Mallard “Trent” Ninestein, 76, passed from this life to life eternal on January 22, 2023. Born on Christmas Day 1946, he was the son of the late Edward Herman and Ella Hunter Mallard Ninestein.

A native of Walhalla, Mr. Ninestein earned his B.S. degree from Georgia Tech, and received his M.B.A. jointly from Clemson and Furman Universities.

A veteran of the U.S. Army Infantry, Mr. Ninestein was stationed in Alaska during the all- time record-cold winter of 1970-71. While in Alaska, he was selected to serve at the historic 1971 meeting between President Richard Nixon and Emperor Hirohito of Japan.

Mr. Ninestein was a member of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church where he served in a variety of leadership positions and was active in the Seekers Sunday School Class.

A former business consultant, Mr. Ninestein’s passion for typography, paper, and graphic design led him to found PIP Printing in Easley, which he operated for almost 20 years. In 1997, he was named Small Business Man-of-the-Year by the Easley Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Ninestein retired after the loss of his eyesight in 1997 and enjoyed visiting schools and youth groups with his guide dog Speedo to promote disability awareness and the importance of having a positive attitude in overcoming adversity.

He is survived by a son, Trenholm M. Ninestein, Jr., and wife Paula and their son Trenholm M. “Tripp” Ninestein III of Suwanee, GA; a daughter, Jessie Ninestein of Greenville; a brother Ed Ninestein of Pickens; and a sister, Eleanor Ninestein House of Hendersonville, NC. In addition, Mr. Ninestein leaves cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends whom he dearly loved, notably Donna Dickinson of Greenville and George P. Burdell of Atlanta.
