Tracy Conroy met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 22, 2021, at the age of 60. She was born on April 30, 1960 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Thomas (Bud) and Rita Conroy. She along with her seven sisters resided on Euclid Ave. in Oak Park, IL.
Tracy attended St. Edmund School and Oak Park River Forest High School. After graduating from Illinois State University, she moved to the city of Chicago where she enjoyed the bustle of the city, local cuisine, and the beauty of the lakefront. She preferred a simple lifestyle utilizing public transportation, taxicabs and bicycles. One of her favorite places to visit was the Planetarium. Tracy was always fascinated with God’s creation. Whether it was a seashell, crystal, rock, or the moon or stars, she found great delight in simple and natural things.
Tracy was a giver. One of her greatest delights was finding the perfect gift for those she loved and then wrapping the gift in the most elegant paper and ribbon. She searched high and low for beautiful cards and stored them away until the time when she found just the right person whom she deemed “card worthy”. She was winsome and could engage any one in conversation with her childlike, genuine interest.
In her mid-thirties, Tracy developed MS. In 2003, Tracy moved to South Carolina for a better climate and to be closer to her sister Gina. In 2015, after a near death experience with appendicitis, Tracy placed her faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ alone for salvation. She moved to Southpointe Healthcare and Rehab where Tracy resided for the past 5 years. Though her illness was debilitating and her body failing, she endured with godly contentment, and her inner man was strengthened as she listened to Scripture and prayed. The Lord graciously took her into His presence relieving her of her pain and suffering which she endured valiantly. Tracy was grateful to the end and was ready to meet her Savior.
Tracy is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Rita, and her brother-in-law, Mark Magaruh. She is survived by her sisters: Margaret, Kathleen Ansenberger (Rick Yelton), Terese, Patricia Artis (Sam), Julie, Elizabeth Weller (Brad), and Gina Broere (Jerry) as well as several nieces and nephews, grand nieces/nephews, and many friends.
“If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”
Romans 10:9-10
