Tony Whitmire passed away on the morning of November 17, 2016 at his home in Liberty, SC. He had battled with cancer for the past 14 months. He is survived by his mother Dot Whitmire, brother Marty Whitmire and wife Angie Whitmire of Liberty SC, brother Terry Whitmire of NC, daughter Melanie Newman and husband Daniel Newman of Easley, SC, three granddaughters Emily Newman, Erica Newman, and Ella Newman of Easley, SC. Step-daughter Stephanie Antillon and Ali Antillon of Bossier City, LA and three step-grandchildren Alijah Antillon, Azranh Antillon, and Alorah Antillon. He also had many nieces and nephews: Brandon and Sue Whitmire, Jeremy Whitmire, Jonathan and Lacie Whitmire, Chelsea Whitmire, Trapper Whitmire, Timothy and Courtney Biddle, Bo Whitmire, Melvin and Amanda Whitmire, Amanda Whitmire, Laura Whitmire. Beloved son of the late Charlie Whitmire, brother Rodney Whitmire, and brother Gregory Whitmire. Tony was a huge South Carolina Gamecock Fan. Who did construction, mainly dry wall, for most of his life. Services will be held on Wednesday November 23, 2016 at Westville Funerals in Greenville, SC. Close Family will have a visitation from 2:30-3pm, visitation for all family and friends from 3-4pm, and funeral from 4-5pm given by Pastor Jack Shook of Roanoke Baptist Church in Liberty, SC. He will then be cremated and his ashes will go to his only child Melanie Newman. Tony would want this to be more of a Celebration of his Life than a sad memorial.
