Timothy Todd Lyke

November 21, 1969 — July 14, 2023

Timothy Todd Lyke, born on November 21, 1969, in Kalamazoo, MI where he lived most of his life, passed onward July 14, 2023, in Greenville, SC. He is predeceased by his parents, George Lyke and Shirley (Olvitt) Lyke. Remembering Tim with the fullest of love is his wife Jennie (Blondell) Lyke whom he married in 2014.
Tim was open-minded, welcoming, loving and supportive of all the couple’s children as well as their partners. He will be greatly missed by his children, Celeste Lyke (Masako Inoue) and Kyle Lyke (Haley Fye) and his granddaughter, Scarlett Lyke. Additionally remembering Tim with love and affection are Jacob Ginsburg (River Woods) and Aeon Ginsberg.
Metastatic Esophageal Cancer viciously took Tim’s life only 5 weeks after he was diagnosed. He entered the hospital system on June 10, 2023, and never returned home. During that time, he fought valiantly through pain as doctors from five specialties worked to treat the various horrific time bombs that were erupting throughout his body. In the end, he made the brave decision, along with his wife and children, to transition to hospice comfort care. It was an honor to be at his side, sharing our love with and for him, as he stepped softly and peacefully into that dark night.
Tim had an incredibly strong work ethic and spent years working for Berry Global. At the time of his death, he was a Corporate Automation Engineer and truly loved his job. He was very personable and developed strong personal connections with many fellow employees and vendors during his time working at and travelling to many of the company’s locations.
Tim was a fan of 80s big hair bands, a diehard Steelers supporter, a Star Wars aficionado and an avid MMORPG gamer playing Everquest2, WOW, FFXIV as well as many other games alongside his wife. Tim loved spending time fishing and spent relaxing weekends on lakes in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and South Carolina. This past winter he extended his love of fish to the indoor variety with several aquariums. He enjoyed watching the fish alongside his beloved dog, Tashi and cat, Dozer.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and hospice team at Greer Memorial Hospital and Greenville Memorial Hospital. The family is especially grateful to all the employees of Berry Global who have assisted and supported them during this battle.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Kalamazoo, Michigan in November with details forthcoming.
