Timothy Louis Chew, 67, of Greenville, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 30, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Tim was born on September 5, 1957, in Newfoundland, Canada, to Nolen Rauel and Katherine Elaine (Katz) Chew. Part of an Air Force family, Tim’s childhood was shaped by frequent moves, including time in Florida, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, and abroad in Canada and the United Kingdom. His family eventually settled near Star Prairie, WI. He graduated from Osceola High School in 1975 and then joined the Air Force, serving one year.
In 1981, Tim was involved in a catastrophic car accident. He suffered severe injuries, breaking his neck, and was told he would never walk again or have children. They were wrong.
Tim went on to attend Greenville Technical College, earning an associate degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communication Engineering in 1984. He dedicated 33 ½ years of his career to Hentzen Coatings as a Coatings Engineer.
He took pride in his Greenville home, where he lived for nearly 45 years, and enjoyed relaxing on his deck and tinkering with his Mustang. Tim was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Twins, but he found his greatest joy in his family—especially his children and grandchildren.
Tim is survived by his three children: Siraya (Alex) Gloudemans of Appleton, WI, Timothy Ryan Chew of Kaukauna, WI, and Nathan (Sharon) Chew currently stationed in Riga, Latvia. He also leaves behind
six beloved grandchildren—Nolan, Stella, Bryce, Timothy Charles, Vanice, and baby Chew due in mid-December. Tim is further survived by his brother, Nolen (Kathy) Chew, his sister, Cindy Chew, and other relatives and friends.
Preceding Tim in death were his parents, Nolen and Katherine; his brother, Lenny; and his sister, Nolynn.
A service is planned to be held in the summer.
Dad, we sure are going to miss you. Until we meet again, you’ll always be in our hearts. We love you and our time together "tickled us to death!"
