Tim G. Smith, 60, passed away in his home on May 9, 2021 with his children by his side.
An Ohio native, he graduated from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio and later moved to Greer, South Carolina, furthering his education with a masters from Clemson University. Tim was the brightest of lights and one-of-a-kind. He was a proud dad, and a devoted g-daddy. He never met a stranger, and never forgot a name. He was loyal and passionate about his family and friends, students, the outdoors, his businesses, and everything in between.
His varied interests were reflected in his career. He was employed with Kraft foods for more than 20 years; taught at Greenville Technical College and Furman University; later worked for
Thomas Creek Brewery; and most recently enjoyed Assistant Park Attendant at Paris Mountain State Park; while managing his newest business venture, Halo Marketing.
Tim is survived by his son, Brett Smith (Jenny) of Boston, Massachusetts; his daughter, Alea Clardy (Nick); and grandson, Brayden Smith of Taylors, South Carolina; and his sister, Josie
Kolm of Canton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Smith and Theresa Smith (Cettl).
His celebration of life will be held at Camp Buckhorn in Paris Mountain State Park on June 26, 2021 from 12-2 PM. Afterwards please join us at Thomas Creek Brewery for a “Toast to Tim” from
3-5 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tim’s honor to Cancer Survivors Park of Greenville.
