Thomas Dwight Rust, Sr.
April 19, 1944 — October 28, 2017
Thomas Dwight Rust, Sr., died Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. His oldest son and his daughter were with him.
He leaves his wife, Betty Rust; 2 sons, Dwight (Bonnie) Rust and Craig (Leonor) Rust; a daughter, Sonya Skal; 2 grandsons, Corey Rust and Colton Skal; 2 granddaughters, Alexa Skal and Kelly Rust; a sister, Linda Sherrod; and many other family members and close friends.
He was born and raised in Lewisburg KY, the son of Owen and Katie Rust.
He served in the United States Navy as an aircraft mechanic prior to working as a supervisor at The Greenville News where he retired. He was a 32nd degree mason and a life member of the Keowee Lodge.
He loved spending time with family and he enjoyed helping his friends, hunting, woodworking and watching football. He also enjoyed fishing and playing golf with his close buddies.
Family and friends will be gathering to remember Tom on Sunday, November 5th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Loopers Barn, 101 Laurenwood, Pickens, SC.
