Thomas Earl Hayes

Thomas Earl Hayes, 63, of Greer, SC passed away peacefully at Pelham Medical Center following a three year long battle with lung cancer. He was the son of the late Robert Earl and Margaret Smith Hayes of Greer. A jack-of-all trades, Thomas worked in construction, firefighting, land clearing, plumbing, towing, and automotive industries.
His favorite hobbies included dirt track auto racing, bareback bronc riding with Longhorn and Arby's rodeos in the mid '80s through the early '90s, building dirt track race cars, and creating vinyl signs for both cars and businesses.
He is survived by a sister, Margaret E. Hayes of Greer; a daughter, Casey A. Hayes, of Spartanburg; and a granddaughter, Gabrielle R. McCullough, also of Spartanburg.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at God's Church, 204 Bert Drive in Greer at 1pm. Burial will follow at West View Cemetery off North 2nd St. and Wilbur St. in Easley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to God's Church and Gibbs Cancer Research.
