Thomas Armstrong Harley, 74, of Spartanburg, S.C., passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 30, 2025 and is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Deborah Harley, his son Jonas Harley and daughter-in-law Charity, his daughter Sarah (Harley) Green and son-in-law Stephen, and his cherished grandchildren Justin, Reese Green, Jackson, Jamin, and Levi Green. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he took every opportunity to express his love and support for each of them by attending their school events, ball games, and theater performances. Tom was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Moore, S.C.

After earning his Associate's degree in business, Tom channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into the creation of Carolina Gourmet Snowballs, a business that quickly became a beloved fixture throughout the Upstate. His work not only provided a gathering place for families and friends but also reflected his commitment to bringing joy and refreshment to the lives of others.

Beyond his business endeavors, Tom was an avid collector of Post-WW2 Lionel Trains, a passion that allowed him to connect with fellow enthusiasts across the United States and share in the delight of this historic hobby. His love for history was evident in his extensive knowledge of past events, and he could often be found recounting tales that captivated his listeners. Tom was also a sports aficionado, cheering on his favorite teams (the Clemson Tigers and Boston Red Sox) with the same enthusiasm he brought to every aspect of his life.

Tom's legacy is one of love, generosity, and optimism. He approached every day with a smile and an open heart, ready to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement. His presence was a source of strength and comfort to all who knew him, and his influence will continue to be felt long after his passing.

As we bid farewell to Tom, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of meaningful relationships and enduring contributions to his community. He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will forever be treasured by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
