Thomas Benjamin Hanvey, 66 years of age, of Easley, passed away on August 5, 2017 in Greenville, SC. Tommy was born in Greenville to Horace Haley and Essie Pearl Hanvey on January 3, 1951. He attended Parker High School in Greenville. He went on to be a machinist at Hilton Displays and retired in 2004. Tommy enjoyed building motorcycles in his younger years and loved his weekly visits to the jockey lot with his brother, Earnest; and nothing filled his heart more than his children and grandchildren.
Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 5pm to 7pm at Greenbrier Farms located at 766 Hester Store Road, Easley, SC 29640. In honor of Tommy’s wishes this will be a non-traditional funeral service. It will be a casual event to celebrate the life of Tommy and will allow for an open forum to share stories and memories of Tommy.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Horace Haley and Essie Pearl Hanvey, and his brother Andrew Hanvey.
Tommy is survived by his four brothers Earnest, Carl, Roger, and Ronnie Hanvey; two sisters Barbara (Hanvey) Phillips and Jeannette (Hanvey) Davis; two sons Robert and Joseph Hanvey; daughter Carrie (Hanvey) Myers; four grandchildren Lily and Rob Hanvey and Cameron and Bryson Myers; six nieces and four nephews.
