Terrell Wayne Penland

December 16, 1947 — January 12, 2023

Even though he is still alive in his God Jehovah’s memory, Terrell Wayne Penland passed away at home on January 12, 2023, at the age of 75 after a short battle with cancer. As she had been since Terry’s stroke 5 years ago, Roberta was ever by his side, holding his hand through it all. Terry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Roberta Penland; his brother, Douglas Erwin Penland, Jr., and wife Betty; his brother, Joel Hugh Penland; his sister, Beverly Messier, and husband Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his son, Terrell Scott Penland; his parents, Douglas, Sr., and Margaret Penland; and his sister, Lona Elizabeth Nash. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 50 years, he had a deep faith in the promises held out in the Bible. Anyone who knew Terry also knew of his love for the water, whether it was taking a calm ride in his boat around the lake or a more exciting one outside of his boat, with or without skis. He enjoyed sharing with others the things that made him happy.
A memorial has been arranged for January 28, 2023, at 3 pm at the Kingdom Hall
