Tai Cheri Reid-Farrow, a beacon of love and care in the lives of all who knew her, passed away on June 13, 2024, at the age of 43 in Greenville, South Carolina. Born on January 8, 1981, in Toledo, Ohio, Tai's warmth and kindness radiated from her very beginning and touched countless hearts throughout her life.
Tai was the cherished daughter of Debra J. Grant King (Michael) and Farrell S. Reid (Lynette). She grew up in a loving home with her brother Farrell "Booper" S. Reid III and sister India King. Tai's family was her pride and joy, and she was a devoted mother to her daughter Arianna N. Sheppard and her son Phillip W. Cunningham III. Arianna blessed Tai with a grandson, Aiden A. Davis, and Phillip W. Cunningham III blessed her with a granddaughter, Ni Cunningham. Her life was further enriched by her loving husband, Markus Farrow, who stood by her as a partner and best friend, along with Markus' loving mother and father, Pat and Sandi Lewis. Tai had two very special friends since childhood, Kelly Hamilton and Lisa, who she loved beyond life until her departure.
Her family tree was rooted in strong bonds and affection, which included her late brother Farrell "Booper" S. Reid III, her son Phillip W. Cunningham III, her uncles Richard W. Grant Jr. and Kevin Reid, and her aunts Desiree Reid Early (Michael) and Carmella Reid. She was also a beloved granddaughter to Willie Myers, Doris M. Myers, Dannie Reid, and Farrell E. Reid. Tai’s nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of many family members will remember her as a source of constant support and unconditional love.
Tai is preceded in death by her grandparents Farrell E. Reid and Dannie Reid, grandmother Doris M. Myers, brother Farrell "Booper" S. Reid III, and her son Phillip W. Cunningham III.
An alumna of Ross College in Toledo, Ohio, Tai graduated with an Associates Degree in Nursing, a field that allowed her to extend her nurturing spirit to those in need. She worked as a Nurses Assistant for eight years, providing care and comfort to countless individuals with dedication and compassion.
Tai's passions extended beyond her professional life. She had an eye for beauty, which she expressed through her love of interior decorating, creating warm and inviting spaces that reflected her personality. Traveling brought her joy and a sense of adventure, allowing her to explore and make memories with her family. Her love for animals showcased her gentle and caring nature, and as a homemaker, she took immense pleasure in creating a loving environment for her family. Tai's devotion to her children, Arianna N. Sheppard and Phillip W. Cunningham III, and grandchildren, Aiden A. Davis and Ni Cunningham, was evident in every aspect of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Friends and family will remember Tai as a loving, friendly, and intelligent woman whose presence could light up a room. Her ability to connect with people and her willingness to help others were traits that defined her. Tai's legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and the indelible impact she made on the lives of those she encountered.
Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones, and her example of love and selflessness will remain a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she has left this earth, the love she shared will never be forgotten.
