Sylvia Ione Beaulieu (nee Johnson), beloved wife and mother, passed away at the age of 83 on June 11, 2018 in Greenville, SC. A wonderful and sharp lady to be around, her absence will be deeply felt by her family, friends, and neighbors. Mrs. Beaulieu was born November 2, 1934 in Pelzer, SC. After graduating from Fountain Inn, she fell in love with Airman Gerald "Gerry" Roger Beaulieu Sr. and enjoyed being married to him for 61 years. Her favorite pastimes were collecting Sheila's Charleston Wooden Houses or unique teapots, and she never turned down an opportunity to color in a coloring book. She loved to read about early American history and she always enjoyed talking to people from all walks of life.
She joins her mother and father, Lucy and Elbert Johnson, at the gates of heaven along with her youngest sister, Margaret and her husband Wilbur Mattison, and brother-in-law Richard Hart. Mrs. Beaulieu is survived by her husband Gerry, their only child Joseph and his wife, Jennifer. She also precedes her oldest sister, Nancy Hart and three nieces. Sylvia's legacy lives on in her three grandchildren (Karen, Gerald, and Chelsea) and four great-grandchildren (Josephine, Logan, Oliver, and Mahalia).
Her final resting place will be at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery. A memorial service date is to be announced shortly. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any contributions be made to the Kidney Foundation in Charleston, SC. Mrs. Beaulieu was the recipient of a kidney transplant over 20 years ago and it improved her quality of life immensely and in turn, all of ours by having her with us longer.
