Sylvia "Ann" Bannister
October 18, 1947 — January 9, 2021
Sylvia “Ann” Bannister, age 73, of Piedmont and wife of late Roger Bannister, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Ella Mae Nettles. Mrs. Bannister retired from Garda Armored Services of Greenville. She was a dedicated member of Rockvale Baptist Church. Her greatest joys in life were going to church, relaxing with her dog Lady, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by children, Pam Watkins (Carl) of Laurens, Dean McGarity (Seema) of Simpsonville; grandchildren, Haley Sharpe (Jeremy), Kelsey Sharpe, Gage McGarity, Judson Watkins, Chandon McGarity, Karlie Watkins, Jackson Raines, Mira McGarity, Hannah Harrison, and Heidi Harrison.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Linda Eudy.
Funeral services will be held at 4 pm, on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Rockvale Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Deane Harrison. The church will be broadcasting the service via Facebook Live for anyone who cannot attend. Masks will be mandatory.
