Susan Moon Chapman

Susan Moon Chapman, a life-long resident of the Moonville Community, died Monday April 13, 2020 at her home. Born January 7, 1947, she graduated from Greenville High School and attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. Susie worked with her husband, Lee, at the famiy’s hardware store in Moonville for many years. Afterwards, they traveled the Eastern US as artisans, selling handcrafted bird houses and butterfly boxes. The things she loved most were her grandchildren, camping, gardening, and being CEO of Everything! Susie was a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church.

She is survived by her dedicated husband of 46 years, Lee, and their two daughters, Julie Green and Amanda Latham (Scott), both in the Greenville area. She also leaves behind one brother, Dr. Joseph T. Moon, and five grandchildren, Hannah, Brendon, Mac (Meghan), Emma Kate and Harper. Susie was pre-deceased by her parents, James Walter Moon Jr. and Mildred, as well as two brothers, James Walter Moon III (Jim) and John Ernest Moon.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
