Susan J Blackwell

Susan J. Blackwell, 71, passed away on March 22, 2025 in Greenville, SC.

Susan was one of a kind. Her infectious goof-ball attitude would interrupt a room like no other. Her fervor for kindness and healing was enough to make anyone feel warmth. 

Her true passion, however, was writing. Writing a play that only she could finish. Unfortunately, her tale will never be told, only leaving us with speculation as to where her beautiful mind would wander, and wander she did. 

Sue got to see the world in unconventional ways. She slept in jungles with a shaman in Ecuador. Riding camels in Morocco...Sue touched as many people as she did lands. 

She will be sorely missed and loved by all who knew her. She is predeceased by her parents, James and Jane Harnedy. She is survived by her loving husband Robert Barbagallo; her children, Michael and Jennifer; her grandchildren Kayla, Samuel, Kaitlyn, Kaycee and Bailey; her sister Sandra; her nephew Joseph and niece Nora; her four great nephews Brady, Dylan, Colton, and Jameson who share in our grief. 

The world suffered a great loss this weekend, but the memories and bonds will never be forgotten.

A celebration of life will be forthcoming in New England at a later date, to be determined.
