Sue Ann Reid, 85, passed away on October 30, 2014 at McCall Hospice House. Sue had battled COPD for over 10 years. Born in Clifton Forge, Virginia on January 19, 1929, she was the only daughter of the late Judson and Frances Smith. She was a loving mother who cared for her children then worked as an administrative assistant for her church before moving to Pendleton, South Carolina in 1982, where she worked in Clemson for many years before retiring to care for her aging mother. She then moved to Greenville to be near her daughter and family where she spent her time being a Nana to her beloved grandsons. Sue loved her many dogs throughout her life and was Michael Jordan’s and LeBron James’ number one fan. She loved old movies, reading and sports but most of all family and friends. Sue is survived by her son, Alex Reid of Los Angeles, CA and his wife Gretchen, and daughter Fran McGuigan of Greer, SC, along with her husband Mike, grandsons Patrick McGuigan of Los Angeles and Kyle McGuigan of Greer. No memorial services are planned. Memorials may be made in her honor to the Greenville Humane Society or McCall Hospice House where, in Sue’s words, they treated her like a queen.
