Steven Tanner Ford, 38, was born on July 30, 1985, in Lake Jackson, Texas and departed from this world on September 16, 2023, in Greenville, South Carolina. He had a heart as big as they come, and it just couldn't keep up anymore.
Tanner was a remarkable individual who left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a graduate of Brazoswood High School and Texas State University, where he earned a Master of Accountancy, showcasing his dedication to academic excellence. He was the Chief Financial Officer for Poole Company in Greenville.
However, Tanner's adventures extended far beyond the classroom. He embarked on incredible journeys, conquering both the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail, a testament to his adventurous spirit and unwavering determination.
Tanner's creative talents were boundless. He had a passion for music, composing melodies that resonated with the heart and soul. His artistic talents shone through his creations, painting a vivid picture of the world as he saw it.
Nature was Tanner's santuary and he cherished the great outdoors. His faithful canine companion, Copper, was often by his side during those escapades, creating priceless memories together.
Tanner's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy is not only the trails he walked but also the lasting impact he made on the lives of those around him, and his adventurous spirit, creativity, and love for the natural world will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Tanner was predeceased by his twin brother, Philip Cody Ford; and his dad, Philip Steven Ford. He is survived by his mom and step dad, Marcia and Johnny Self; his sisters, Stevenie Haner (Mark), Jennifer Viets (Doug), Michelle Thomas-Melcher (Shayne), Julie Quintanilla (Jay); and his brothers, Jory Thomas (Renae), and Steven Self (Brandi). He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Morgynn (Phillip), Mackenzie (Josh), Stephen, Chase, Anthony, Riley, Julian, Jalie, Cody, Emmie, Bodie, Greyson, and Austin; his great nephews, Wyatt and Gage; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date with details to follow, where friends and family are invited to share stories and remember the extraordinary person he was.
