Steven Thomas Amato, 66, of Simpsonville, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on October 22, 2017.
Born in Fairview NJ, he was the son of the late Michael Joseph and Rosalie Amato.
Steve was a humble man who gave selflessly and dedicated his life to his wife, children and grandchildren, who he loved dearly. He enjoyed playing golf, Clemson football, watching his granddaughters play soccer, and was very proud of his two oldest grandchildren who recently graduated and currently attend the University of Alabama. He was a hardworking and dedicated terminal manager of Conway Freight for over 30 years. Following his retirement, Steve enjoyed working part time at Home Depot.
He is remembered with love by his wife of 47 years, Beth, his four children; Jennifer Hartman and late husband Scott, Corrie Leonard and husband Scott, Michael Amato and wife Jessica and Kate Barlow and husband Alex; six grandchildren, Maxwell, Madeline, Reilly, Reagan, Reese and Russell; sister, Dianne Keeler and husband Richie.
The family wishes to thank the kindness and care given by Kindred Hospice of Greenville through this difficult time.
The memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 2252 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville. The family will receive visitors in the fellowship hall following Mass.
