Steppen Rodriguez Smith

December 13, 1998 — November 2, 2024

Easley, SC

Steppen Rodriguez Smith, known affectionately as Steppen to his friends and family, passed away on November 2, 2024, in his hometown of Easley, South Carolina. Born on December 13, 1998, to the late Laura Wright and Spencer Smith, Steppen's 25 years of life were marked by an infectious enthusiasm and a deep love for his family, friends, and community.

Steppen was a man of many talents and interests. A skilled tradesman, he dedicated nearly a decade to perfecting his craft as a certified electrician. His work was not just a job but a passion, one that he often shared with his father, Spencer, with whom he loved working side by side. Steppen's expertise and dedication to his trade left a lasting impact on all the projects he touched and the people he worked with.

Beyond his professional life, Steppen was an avid outdoorsman. He found solace and joy in fishing and swimming, often taking trips to explore new waters and landscapes. Traveling was another of Steppen's passions, and he seized every opportunity to experience new places and meet new people. His adventurous spirit was matched only by his culinary skills, as he delighted in both eating and cooking, always eager to try new recipes and share them with loved ones.

Music, movies, and stand-up comedy were sources of great enjoyment for Steppen. He had an uncanny ability to find humor in everyday situations, and his laughter was contagious. A gamer at heart, Steppen was often found with a controller in his hand trying to teach his nieces how to play C.O.D, G.T.A, or beating them at mario cart. His love for a good time was evident in the way he lived his life, always surrounded by family and friends, creating memories that would be cherished forever.

Steppen's loving nature was the cornerstone of his existence. He was the kind of person who would go out of his way to help others, always ready with a tool in hand and a joke on his lips. His siblings, Aleigha Webber, Casey Webber, Hallie Smith, and Victoria R-Santana, will remember him as the funny and handy brother who brought light and laughter into their lives. Steppen was also a beloved uncle to his nieces Delylah, Selah, Scarlett, and Trinity, who adored their fun-loving uncle. He is survived by his grandparents, Carolyn K. Lanier, Thomas Massingale, and Amalia R. Gonzalez.

Steppen's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the incredible mark he left on the hearts of those who knew him. As we say goodbye to Steppen Rodriguez Smith, we celebrate the life of a man who was truly one of a kind. His spirit, so full of life and joy, will continue to inspire all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Steppen's journey on earth may have ended, but his story will be told for generations, a testament to a life well-lived and a man dearly loved.
