Stephen Vance (Van) Harrill passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, in Greenville, SC. He was born March 8, 1957, in Asheville, NC, to the late Jack and Nancy Harrill. He grew up in Forest City, NC, where he played football while attending East Rutherford High School. He worked his way through college and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
After graduation, Van began his career in the polymer textile business. As a savvy businessman, he founded his company in Greenville, SC, called USA Fibre Solutions, which he ran successfully for many years before retiring. He was a Christian, made wonderful friends wherever he went and lived life to the fullest. He was known for his generosity to others, love of life (and cars), and passion for cooking. He was a colorful raconteur and always kept those around him laughing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Van is survived by his four children, whom he adored: Stephen, Katie (Charlie), Allison (John), and Andrew, their mother, Melissa, and his brother, Jack.
A Celebration of Van’s life and of the love his family has for him will be planned in the coming months for family and friends.
