Spencer Holliday passed away peacefully on Jan. 12th at the age of 80.
Born March 4, 1941, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Robert Asbury & Thelma Willingham Holliday. He was a member of Marietta First Baptist Church.
Spencer is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of the home and his step-children, Meghan & Andrew Barker; brothers Griffin, Doyle (Shirley), and Pete (Julie); sister Jean Cobb. He was predeceased by his brothers; Edmund, Donald, Parker, and sisters Frances Forrester and Jennie Wright.
Jerry was the retired owner of Jerry’s Body Shop. He loved old cars and restoring them. Throughout his years in the car business, he made many life-long friends who will miss him dearly.
First and foremost, Jerry loved and served God. While working on old cars you would find him listening to radio preachers or listening to gospel music. His testimony will always be his love for his Savior.
It wasn’t unusual for Jerry to take trips to his favorite desert spots in Arizona, New Mexico, and California. He marveled at the beauty of God’s creations and majesty and this encouraged him to travel and visit these places.
As per Jerry’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Mark 16:19 That’s what we do as travelers: we go out into the world. We wonder at His creation and His people. We walk in the footsteps of Jesus.
