Shirley Harvell

Shirley Harvell, a lifelong resident of South Carolina, left this world peacefully on October 9, 2024, at the age of 86.

Shirley was born on July 23, 1938, in Woodruff, SC, to the late Irene McIntyre Lominick and George Lewis Lominick. It was in Simpsonville, SC, where she drew her last breath, surrounded by the love of her family and the memories of a life rich with experiences.

Shirley retired from Union Carbide (Kemet). Shirley was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Darrell Taylor of Simpsonville and Mark Taylor of Simpsonville; her grandchildren, Chris Taylor and Jennifer Miles; and her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Joseph, Brittany, Chase, Ali, Kimberly, and Brayden and her great-great-grandchildren, Lucas and Sophia.

Shirley was preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Chuck Harvell; her mother, Irene McIntyre Lominick; her father, George Lewis Lominick; and her sister, Nancy Straub. Each of these dear family members held a special place in her heart.Shirley's love for books was renowned, and through reading, she found both an escape and a source of never-ending knowledge.

Shirley Harvell's chapter on Earth may have concluded, but her story will be read and recounted for generations to come.
