Sheryl Scott Davenport Wallsmith passed away peacefully on September 24, 2021. A native of Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lucia Ann Davenport and Walter Welborn Davenport.
Sheryl graduated from Wade Hampton High School in 1966. She was a bank teller for many years, then worked for 15 years at Upstate Mortgage, where she retired. After retirement, she loved to frequent yard sales, work out at Curves, walk on her treadmill, and bake. She made sure to give everyone she knew a piece of cake and loved to share her stashes of candy. She also loved to attend the WHHS graduate luncheons, have dinners with friends, and spend as much time as humanly possible with her loving family and her boyfriend of many years. Her favorite time of year was Christmas; she had a huge collection of Christmas decorations and made sure every inch of her house was festive, including a huge pile of gifts that seemed to grow each year.
She is survived by her brother, Walter W. Davenport; daughters, Kelley Hannafin and Robin Dameron; granddaughters, Carly Dameron and Ella Hannafin; nephew, John Johnson; and multiple other nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many loving, caring friends that she has made throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael R. Wallsmith; her sister, Felicia Ann Johnson; and the love of her life for 30 years, Robert D. Cleveland.
A celebration of life will be held at her home in Taylors from 2-5 p.m. on October 2nd.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
