Sherry Ann Nelon Arms

Sherry Ann Nelon Arms, known affectionately as Sherry to her friends and family, passed away on March 18, 2025, at the age of 74 in Greenville, South Carolina. Born on March 2, 1951, in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, Sherry was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her life.

Sherry was the cherished wife of Ronnie Arms of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, with whom she shared a life full of joy and companionship. She was a devoted mother to her son, Alan King, also of Travelers Rest, and she held the memory of her late son, Shane Brooks of Anderson, South Carolina, close to her heart.

Sherry was also predeceased by her father, Arthur Nelon of Forest City, NC, her mother, Wilma Hudson McMahan, of Greenville SC, her stepfather, Keith McMahan of Greenville SC, and her beloved brother, Scott Nelon, of Forest City, NC, all of whom left a profound impact on her life.

Sherry's family circle included her step-daughter, Kaye Gordon (husband Bobby Gordon) of Marietta, South Carolina, and her step-granddaughter, Emily Gordon, Stepmother, Phebe Nelon of Forest City, North Carolina, her step-sister Donna Lowe, of Rutherfordton, her niece, Trish Nelon Yelton of Rutherfordton, her nephew, Rob Nelon of Rutherfordton, her niece, Erika Lowe of Forest City, and her Aunt, Betty Koone of Spindale, NC, as well as other family members that will miss her dearly.

Those who knew Sherry will remember her for the love she had for her dog, Coby, and the unwavering love she showed for her family. Sherry's presence was a source of comfort and warmth to everyone around her. She was the embodiment of loving, kind, and thoughtful—words that only begin to describe the profound impact she had on the lives of those she touched.

Sherry's life was marked by her gentle spirit and her ability to make those around her feel valued and loved. Her kindness extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of friends and community members alike. Her thoughtful nature was evident in the way she remembered birthdays, anniversaries, and the little details that meant so much to her loved ones.
