Sharon Lee Delaney

July 13, 1962 — January 5, 2024

Sharon Lee Delaney (DeGroat) departed this earthly realm on January 5, 2024, at the age of 61, in the serene city of Clinton, South Carolina. Born on July 13, 1962, in the picturesque town of Newport News, Virginia, Sharon's journey reached its peaceful conclusion, after a long illness.

She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years Michael E. Delaney. Son Brian & Nicole Delaney of Ashley, PA. Son Keith & Camilla Delaney of Clinton South Carolina. 8 Grandchildren Roseanna, Isaiah, Alex, Britney, Selena, Kassidy, Alannah, Peyton, Great Granddaughter Violet, and her loved great-grand puppies.

Sharon was an avid gardener and could always be found near her plants both inside and out. She loved to plan family camping trips, and birthday parties and always said that her greatest accomplishments were raising her sons Brian and Keith and loving her grandchildren. Sharon could always be heard saying “life is what you make it” and her favorite one-liner of "Whatever".

To honor and pay homage to her remarkable life, a private celebration of life will be held, allowing family, friends, and loved ones to gather in solemn remembrance. Details of this heartfelt gathering, where stories and cherished memories will be shared, will be announced later.

In lieu of floral tributes, the family kindly requests donations in Sharon's memory to the Hospice of Laurens County, an institution known for their compassionate care. Contributions can be sent to 1304 Springdale Dr, Clinton, SC, 29325, or made online at https://www.viagiving.org/donating . As we offer our support, we honor Sharon's legacy and help others in need during their most challenging times.

The Delaney family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Taylor and the dedicated staff at Hospice for their unwavering commitment, providing comfort and solace during Sharon's final days. Their compassionate care will forever be remembered and cherished by the family.

May the memories of Sharon be woven into the tapestry of our lives, bringing comfort and healing as we navigate the profound loss. Her spirit will forever inspire us with her kindness, love, grace, and her gift of caring for the ones she loves. May she find eternal peace and rest in the embrace of the Divine.
